ISBC Champ Show

Bitches and Special Award Classes

I thoroughly enjoyed my day with some very commendable exhibits. I found a few exhibits a little long cast, whilst they need some “engine” room
to cover the ground well when working, this does not need to be overdone. My grateful thanks go to my stewards for keeping everything
running smoothly and also to the exhibitors for their entries.

Special Award Classes

Judge: Hannah Bouttell (Ixia)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at what is, for me, such a prestigious show – a true pleasure and privilege; I really enjoyed judging your lovely dogs – thanks for bringing them.

Special Award Junior Dog or Bitch (7, 4)
1 Blackshaw’s Lanstara Ruby Slippers. Lovely chunky baby, only just out of the puppy class. She had a strong, yet pretty, head which was well chiselled across the brow. Correct length of neck into well placed shoulders, a nicely slightly sloping topline and good tailset. Moved soundly.

2 Berry & Morris’ Quensha What A Girl Wants via Brinara. Although half-sister to 1, a slightly different type. She has a beautifully glossy and well presented coat; just felt she could have given more on the move.

3 Davison’s Bardonhill You Don’t Fool Me. Really lovely lad, full of my kind of type, he coped very well at his first ever show.

Special Award Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (9, 4)
1st Stockton’s Gwendariff D’ya Think I’m Fab for Kespas JW. Handsome young man with good angulation fore and aft, pleasingly balanced and moved with soundness and flare.

2 Bott’s Bardonhill Pearly Spencer. Naughty, naughty handful of a lad, but I did love his personality! As he continues to mature and grow up, I think he will be a beautiful contender for top awards.

3 Hart’s Gwendariff In The Limelight with Gilliegrae. The perfect package; although, for a boy, just a little on the small side for me.

Special Award Challenge Certificate Winners Dog or Bitch (6, 2)
1st Mugford’s Sangarah Skyline over Lynwood JW (IMP). My handwritten scribble of critique from the day of the show just reads ‘to me the epitome of an Irish Setter bitch. Small but perfectly balanced’. Such a pretty head with dark, almond shaped eye that looks into your soul and just the right amount of chiselling and perfectly raised brow to create a melting ‘Irish’ expression. The right amount of angulation fore & aft – nothing overdone or underdone – with a strong topline and tailset, which all together created beautiful, flowing and driving movement.

2 Stockton’s ShCh Riverbrue Alchemist amidst Kespas. Quite different to 1, but admired as much by me for slightly different reasons. Difficult decision to make.

3 Catling’s ShCh Shandwick Love In A Mist for Teleri. Sound and in good condition; a joy to put my hands over her well constructed body.
