Southern Counties Canine Association
2 June 2019
My thanks to the Officers and Committee for this invitation. My very efficient Stewards, Paddy and Wendy did a first class job with keeping things moving, record keeping and refreshments too, all of which enabled me to concentrate on the task in hand – the dogs.
A good entry awaited and thankfully a good sized outdoor ring where it was reasonably easy to assess movement throughout the classes. I’m a movement fan. It’s what I like to see in our breed. Sound construction, easy open free movement with not just reach and drive, but the holding of toplines and carriage as well as articulation through the hock joints and follow through to the foot extension was my desire as well as a good overall type and correct headpiece with parallel planes and correct length to foreface, finished off with good expression and enough chiselling to move from the ordinary to the typical. I found these traits in my main winners and on this occasion, I was really pleased with the overall quality of many of the dogs and bitches brought today for my opinion.
Judging for me personally, really is on the day and also on the moment – performance matters when tight decisions are being made. This is what separates the winners from the losers. You’ve got to want it and fight for it right to the end …… you’ve got to show me that yours is better than the next. Coming on the day with a dog in average condition, half prepared and slovenly shown will not get rewarded by me regardless of the fact that I may have admired that animal in the past.
I was delighted to say that all dogs came clean and I did not have to wash my hands at all until the end of my appointment. A few slobbers here and there but it was a warm day so that is part of the course. I had a couple of incorrect mouths, a fault like any other and has to be considered in the same regard. Just very important to consider in any future breeding plans.
Thank you exhibitors for supporting me and for accepting my decisions with graciousness and sportsmanship. I felt the breed strong in its bitches with lots of quality girls around, boys were good too but as a group, the depth of quality was not so prevalent. I liked my winners very much and in some classes the decisions were pretty tight. A few dogs I had admired from the ringside disappointed today, but on the other hand there were a few I was not particularly keen on who now, up close, impressed me. Just goes to show it is so important to keep an open mind. The gangly puppy you hated could turn into a swan!

1ST BRABROOK NUTCRACKER ( MR S & K GLASTONBURY) Top end of this class, and quite mature already.
Sound out and back and comes together nicely on the around. He is deep chested, strong in bone and with good quality
muscle already. In head he has a dark expressive correctly shaped eye with good pigmentation. Raised brows, enough
stop and has some chiselling through the foreface and under zygomatic arches. He is a little broader in skull
than is my preference. Good length of foreface and with nice big nose. I particularly noted his large teeth which was a
real pleasure to see in this entry as I feel many of our dogs teeth are getting so much smaller. He has a decent shoulder
placement, I would like a tad more return of upper arm to give perfect balance but he does use himself well in front.
He has good length and spring of rib with correct length of loin. Super width to his first and second thigh.
Just a shade steeper in croup than I prefer. He comes together nicely on the move, one of his best assets. I particularly
liked the strength through his hock joints.
2ND ALOLFRANA INVICTUS (AI) (MRS R D DANKS-KEMISH) Really gorgeous head and such a lovely type. So
much to commend when he is on the stack. His head is his biggest asset for me – loved it, just devine. He is
pleasing enough in front and rear angulations and has a good rib length and strong loin. I’d like him with a tad more depth.
Stands over enough ground for his height and he has a good tail set and carriage. He is still young and just didn’t
have quite the development of the winner. Needs to develop on and find his co-ordination on the move. He’s a baby
and has plenty of time. He will be an interesting one to watch.

Quite an interesting class with some nice puppies coming through. Of course, all developing at different rates and some more
advanced than others at this point. Breeding lines develop at different rates so it will be enjoyable to see these same puppies
on another day later in life.
1ST GRAYRIGGE MYSTRAL WIND WITH ALANASETT (MR P & MRS F DAVIS) BPIB My notes say,
unexaggerated, moderate and classy. And he is. Not too much of anything but the essentials all in the right place.
So well put down with super lush coat of correct texture and in great muscle. Most appealing head, kind in eye with
the correct unshelled almond shape and very nice pigmentation to complete the look. Well raised brow with
good amount of chiselling through foreface and cheeks. He has a super skull shape, harmonising with his foreface.
Clean in lip and with nothing overdone. He is clean in neck, following through to a super front assembly, deep in rib
along with good spring and length. Strong and muscular loin area. Super topline and tailset which he uses well on the move.
Not overdone in quarters but with enough going on. Moderate but angulated well. He is short from hock to heel
with strength through the hock joint. He is a sound easy mover who carries himself well already. His handler
gets the best from him, showing him what is required of him. They work together well. He is a smart one of a lovely
style. Pleased to award him BPIB
2ND BLUESPRINGS PICTURE THIS (MR M J & MRS L C WILLIAMSON) Quite a mature boy who stands over plenty
of ground. He is well angulated fore and aft and is well off for bone, with the nicest of feet. He is a shade wide in
front but rather that than excessively narrow. His coat is lush with good texture. I might like him a shade darker, but that’s
the icing on the cake – he is within standard. His ribs are well developed, deep, well sprung and of good length.
Good in loin and with a super width to his first and second thigh areas. Good bend of stifle. In head I
liked his eye colour and pigment, his raised brows but would prefer less depth of stop. He has enough chiselling
for his age already. Good ear set and length. Moved well on the around and rather pleasing out and back. Just could
not match the winner in head and a few other breed points.

1ST KERRYFAIR LOVE ON THE ROCKS AMBERLIGHT JW (MR & MRS P LUCAS) Liked this young man for his
make shape and overall style. He stands over enough ground and is presented in immaculate condition. His muscles
are of quality and in prime shape. He has a correct eye colour, shape and pigment. His brows are raised, he has good
amount of stop. His head is perhaps not as refined or chiselled as I would prefer and I’d like a little less in lip. His ear
set and length are fine. His biggest asset for me is that lovely neck into shoulder line. He is powerful yet racy
through there and he is nicely angulated with good length to scapula in relation to upper arm, making for
a very pleasing front. He is deep in rib, long in rib and of good spring. Strong tidy loin, leading into a powerful hind
assembly. Good width over first and second thighs with well bent stifle. I’d like him a shade flatter in croup
but he has length and width through the pelvis area. He moves with power and precision.
2ND COVARNEY PACO RABANNE (MR W & MRS A NEEDS) Like 1 his failings were similar in head but he had much
to commend in other areas. He has good eye colour and pigment. Appealing head proportions with good ear set and
length. Clean in neck, with appealing arch. Good neck and shoulder line, good return of upper arm. Deep in chest,
with good spring of rib. Perhaps a shade longer in loin than I prefer. Well developed first and second thighs, with
good amount of bend in stifle. Pleasing in croup and he moved with purpose today. This was a difficult decision
between these two boys. One just appealed more for type. This boy did challenge me. It will be enjoyable to watch
both their development.

1ST DANAWAY DESERT SONG (MRS G M BAILEY) Moderate, typey, stylish, unexaggerated. These where my
first impressions of this young man. His elegance and style immediately appealed to me when he came into the
class. He sort of reminded me of a very young ‘Fortune Teller’. He has a very classic head piece with correct head
planes, parallel and of equal length. Nice big nose and correct unshelled almond shaped eyes. Dark brown
with great pigmentation, correct amount of stop, chiselling and nicely raised brows. He is clean in lip and with a
good fairly square finish to the foreface. Correct ear set and length. Super in neck into shoulder with long well set
shoulder blade, good return of upper arm and deep enough in chest. He is well ribbed back to strong muscular loin.
He stands on quality oval bone, with the very best of small, tight arched toes. He is strong yet unexaggerated behind
with good croup. Moved as one with his handler. Elegant and racy. Much to commend.
2ND THENDARA MARSHMELLO (MRS S, MR J & MRS D PYM, BOTT & MILLIGAN-BOTT) Totally different in
style to 1, well presented and in good muscle also. He has a super little forehand but today I felt he still needs to
develop in rear and then the picture will be more balanced and complete. He is presented in a great coat and goes well
on the around. He is well off for bone and has good feet. Good proportions to his head but just a shade too much
lip for my taste. He is a work in progress which one would expect for this middle class. There is more to come from
him, time is the answer.

Super shoulder line, prosternum and return of upper arm. Neck sets in nicely. Deep chested, super ribbing and
strong loin. Tidy bone and feet. Not the quarters of 1 and is a little steeper in croup than I prefer. Moves with
some style.

Not the easiest of classes to assess, as all at differing stages of maturity and also good dogs lacking in fundamentals. Each judge
balances things differently in their own minds. For me the positives must outweigh the negatives and the negatives taken in perspective.
1ST LYNWOOD HOCUS POCUS AT SETTESOLI JW (MRS J P RUSSELL) Most appealing style of setter with the
correct head planes. His head is really lovely, with all the essentials on display and with nothing exaggerated or
overdone. Correct eye colour, shape and pigmentation, raised brows, correct chiselling throughout. Clean
in lip, good finish to foreface, clean in underjaw. He is fairly well put together through the front with good length
to his bones and good correlation of angulation. Deep in rib, good spring and of good length. Deep in quarters
with good bend of stifle. He is pleasing in bone and feet and has a lot of good breed features. He is a typey dog but
I personally find him a bit lazy on the move. He does enough to get by but his type carried him through today.
2ND COVARNEY LIL’TIPPLE AT JACINGAIL (MR K & MISS J PULLEN & ATKIN) Such a sound moving dog, he
really puts it all in from the rear. Head planes ok but I find him a little plain for my preference, lacking some chiselling
and refinement. He has a super rear end with moderate stifles and great width over first
and second thighs. He has great ribbing and is deep. He has a great croup and is well off for tidy bone and
feet. Good topline and tailset and good in upper arm. I would prefer a better layback of shoulder for my
ideal but he uses himself so well on the move, it was easy to reward him.

1ST WYNJILL WINNER TAKES ALL (MRS J E HOLLEY) My RES CC winner who literally ‘stole it’ off the Limit
Winner in the Challenge. He is elegant, racy, balanced and stylish. He moved with precision, reach and drive and
his effortless ground covering easy action was just so pleasurable to see. He looked like he was floating
he was so light on his feet. His head planes are correct, as are his head proportions to each other. He is devoid
of any excessiveness in head and his ear set and length are correct. He is good in stop, chiselling and eye shape.
Dark pigmentation and dark hazel in eye colour. His coat is a deep rich colour which can make his eye colour
questionable. It is certainly within standard and on the whole that is of least importance to my mind in relation to
the overall dog and his performance today. I like the crest to his neck, a breed point I love to see as without it I find
a ‘common’ look. Clean in topline and so correct into the shoulder line and upper arm. Good prosternum, deep in chest,
well ribbed of correct shape and of good length. Strong in loin. Wide and powerful in quarters. Short from
hock to heel and stands well into his frame. He is still young and has more to come but on this day he never stopped
showing and in the Challenge his handler/owner was relentless. The last run round clinched it as he stepped up another
gear and looked like he could go on all day. It’s on the moment and his performance coupled with his quality just edged
it over the super Limit winner who was also put down to the letter.
2ND REDCLYST BORIS (MR D G & MRS P A PIKE) My surprise result of the day. Not surprising because of the result,
more surprising as I had seen him before and didn’t really take much notice. Under the hand this is a very well made
dog. He has the very best of fronts, with correct angulations, prosternum and length of scapula to humerus. His front
is straight and true and he stands on correct oval bone and neat tidy feet. He is deep in chest, well ribbed and strong
in the loin. I liked his quarters, wide and powerful with correct amount of bend in stifle. Very pleasing topline
and tailset. He is in good feather and very well muscled. His head is a little plainer than I like and he would benefit
from a bit more stop, although he has an amount of raised brow. Dark enough in eye and of a good shape. He’s
one of those very honest dogs that deserves to be given that second look. He moved well on the out and around but
was a shade close behind on the away. That saying, his overall construction and condition put him in high
contention in this class. He didn’t quite have the elegance and style of the winner but nonetheless,
he is a quality dog from this kennel, in fact in my opinion one of their best of recent times
– I will watch him ringside I have no doubt.

Two lovely boys headed this class, each with very many attributes to consider. I liked them both very much for different reasons.
It was a very close decision between the two, head preference just finalising the decision.
1ST BARDONHILL ETERNAL FLAME AMONG AMBERLIGHT JW (MR & MRS P LUCAS) This 4 year old boy is
really starting to peak. This is another charge from this exhibitor who was presented here today in the peak of
fitness. His condition and presentation were without question and my, can this lady, ‘crack a stack’. This dog has
a flowing correct topline and tailset, He has a nice head and eye of correct shape and colour. Would like a bit
more chiselling. Correct head planes and balanced in ratios of skull to foreface. Good ear set. Strong, moderate length
of neck with slight crest. Super layback of shoulder and length of blade. Good in prosternum but I would like a
longer return of upper arm to give him that extra reach I am so passionate about. He stands on the best of feet and
correct quality oval bone. .Super ribbing, through to strong muscular loin. Strong in hindquarter with great width
over first and second thighs. Short tight rear pasterns. Good set of pelvis but I would prefer a bit more length.
He is a sound dog out and back and moved well enough on the around. To be honest I’d like a bit more front reach
to come to my ideal., but this handler really gave it her all and the dog was up for it too. There is much to commend
this boy and on another day he could trouble the best.
2ND ALOLFRANA HOTTER THAN U’KNOW JW (MRS R D DANKS-KEMISH) Dark coated, superbly presented
boy who has so much to like. I have seen him before and wasn’t quite sure what I thought of him. Today he impressed
me no end. He is not just as elegant for me as the winner but that said he is a very good example and I think he is
capable of gaining the higher awards. His coat presentation was faultless. He was gleaming and in full feather. Standing
on quality bone and good feet, he stands over a good amount of ground. He has a correct gently sloping topline and
is good through the croup, tailset and pelvic region. He is good in shoulder and upper arm, albeit a tad wider in front
than I prefer. Good ribbing, just a shade long in loin but oh so strong in rear. Well developed first and second thigh,
with strong powerful muscling throughout his body. His head is pleasant but I find him just a shade too deep in stop for
my ideal. His ear set and length are good and he is very nicely chiselled throughout with correct head planes, both in
length and parallel to one another. He comes together quite nicely on the move, with enough reach and drive and an
ever lashing tail. I wish you good luck with him, you are a good team.

Three nice Champions with differing attributes. Thank you for bringing them for my consideration.
1ST SH CH RIVERBRUE ALCHEMIST AMIDST KESPAS JW (MR K & MRS P STOCKTON) CC, BOB & GROUP 3
This nicely balanced young dog presents a picture of elegance coupled with substance and raciness. His red coat,
outline and style are full of breed characteristics. I particularly liked his overall balance, his length to height
proportions, his body depth to leg length, his angulations fore and aft and then he comes alive on the move. I
really enjoyed watching his effortless movement on the around and he is sound out and back. His lashing tail, head
carriage and showmanship made him so appealing to me. Of course he is not perfect, no dog is. I’d like a bit
more chiselling in head, but his expression is so soft and he has the nicest raise to his brows. I could feel him
almost talking to me as I looked into his face. Super in front angulation, with good prosternum. Just a shade wide here.
Deep well sprung ribs, a shade more length would be ideal. Sufficient width over first and second thigh, but very
well muscled and in the peak of body condition. His topline flows without any breaks, finishing off nicely through his
pelvis which is of good length and width. He is a picture on the around with his easy open reachy gait. He drives off
his hocks and has great propulsion. His coat and full feather complete the picture. I remember admiring him as a
youngster, it’s so nice to see him now fulfilling that early potential. Delighted to see him take Group 3.
2ND SH CH AMBLIN’S SWEET WILLIAM (MRS P MITCHELL) Another quality specimen who is so deserving of
his title. He was presented here today in glorious condition and in gleaming coat. Nice head with dark eye and good
pigment. Perhaps I might prefer a tighter shape but its not offensive. He has a good amount of stop and the best of
brows which he uses as you go over him – quite charming. He has super chiselling throughout and has the
best of head planes and lengths to skull and foreface. He is strong in underjaw and has a nice big nose.
Very pleasing topline and tailset. He has decent front angulation but is a shade wider in front than I prefer.
Super in rib shape, depth and length. Well developed loin through to the best of quarters, deep wide and powerful,
but without exaggeration. For my ideal I would like him a shade taller on the leg for ideal balance. He is rich in coat
colour and in full feather. Handled and moved well.

on him. Good muscle and presented and handled well to win this class over a previous class winner now in different
hands. Really strong well developed quarters with good bend of stifle and short strong rear pasterns. Decent lay
of shoulder and good in return of upper arm. Has the best of ribs and short in loin. He has a pleasant head
with some chiselling and enough stop and raised brows. Rather wide behind on the away and a bit erratic coming
towards but he came together quite well on the around. So pleased to see he did well again in the follow up competition.

and tailset. Wide and strong in hindquarters with good bend of stifle. Moved ok.
2ND TREDURA CLANDESTINE AFFAIR (MISS J M CHILDS) Nice mover who was nicely angulated. Wide in quarters
and also has a decent front with really good prosternum. His head was not his fortune, and his coat was dry and lack
lustre today.

Pleasing topline. I liked his front assembly, good in layback and return of upper arm. He has a good amount of
width to his first and second thighs and has a good bend of stifle. Pleasing in rear pasterns. He is well turned
out and in good condition. Would prefer a shade longer in croup. Good ear set and length, enough raised brows.
Would prefer a better eye shape and a shade darker. This handler gets the best of her charge and puts him
down in good coat.
2ND HUNNICOTE HANDYMAN (MRS J A JONES) My notes start off …. Super little front. I really liked his
front assembly, with its good layback of shoulder, and good in return of upper arm. Straight front with good amount
of bone and decent feet. I find him a bit short in foreface which I find quite detracting to that glorious Irish Setter face
I hope to find. Would prefer more width to rear.

Challenging class whilst only small in number.
1ST PORSCHET CHRISTMAS CRACKER (MISS C M H TUITE) Really pretty girl with the kindest of eye, dark, correct
unshelled almond shape and with dark eye pigmentation. Long and lean in head with good head proportions
and ultimate balance. Good ear length and correct low set. Clean in neck into decent shoulder and upper arm.
Well shaped ribs with sufficient spring. Still needing to develop in rear but she is a good little mover,
carrying herself well as she goes. She is rather fine and I’d like to see her with more substance on her, but Irish
can be slow to get going in the eating stakes, so I forgave her this as I loved her prettiness and her straight true front.
2ND ALOLFRANA LADY MILLION AT RIONORE (AI) (MS S J RANDLE) This girl is also very pretty and actually
more the style that I like. She has a great little head piece with all the essentials. A bitch has to be pretty as far
as I’m concerned, no mistaking, no forgiving. This one is and this is her crowning glory. Deep chested with ample
ribs. Good in loin and pleasing over the quarters. Decent in shoulder and upper arm angulation. Would prefer a
straighter front. Moved happily and with nice carriage.

1ST LOGANRISH DIAMONDS N’PEARLS (MISS HOLEHAN) Liked this girl for her moderation and style.
She is nicely put together in front with the best of shoulder and upper arm. Good prosternum and great depth.
Super ribbing through to good loin area. Standing on good bone and feet. Straight and true. Coming along well
in width to quarters, but still needing to develop in bend of stifle. I was not so keen on her croup but neither did
I find it offensive. She is very racy and sound as they come. Liked her movement out, back and excels on the around.
Best Puppy Bitch.
2ND BLUESPRINGS SUNDAY GIRL (MR M J & MRS L C WILLIAMSON) Also liked this girl a lot.
She is pretty with nice expression, good ear set and length She stands on good bone and neat feet and over plenty of
ground. She has a nice front assembly and is wide in quarter with good bend of stifle.
She lacked a little on her croup but it was not offensive. She moves with some attitude which is so nice to see in a puppy.

The two girls heading this class give me quite a quandry. Really liked them both, although they each are of a different style to
one another. Both classy and both definitely from the top drawer. All being equal, I felt that if managed correctly they could indeed
both go all the way.
1ST JETSETTER CRISTALLE TO POLMENNOR JW (IMP RUS) (MRS A R ROBERTS) Won this class over
her competitors on her style. She is so classy and well put together, with a super front assembly. She carries through to a
good rib cage of some length, correct depth and enough spring. Strong enough in loin and has the best of
quarters. I liked her gently flowing topline and tailset. She’s pretty as they come with the most
expressive eyes and raised brows. Clean in foreface with good amount of underjaw. She is still young and there is
plenty more to come from her. Moved well in all areas. She has enough muscle at this point, but remember there are
others chasing your tail. Condition of coat and muscle mean a lot!
2ND COVARNEY ESTEE AVEC MARZANNE (MRS M HADFIELD) This girl is very eye catching. She is at the bottom
end of this class and is already quite mature. Her coat and muscle condition were without question – super.
She has a nice head, with dark eye of good shape. Good ear set and length. She has enough chiselling throughout.
Super length of neck leading into that great front. Stands on good bone and feet. Great topline and tailset. Strong in
hindquarter. She really comes together on the move. Light and effortless, and with plenty reach and drive. Loved her
style as she used herself on the around.

Strong in loin and has the best of angulations behind. She has a gentle slope to her topline.

1ST LYNWOOD ABRACADABRA JW (MR R C & MRS J P MUGFORD) Now then……. The CC winner from
Graduate. And what a class act she is. She will be in Graduate no more. This bitch in my
opinion is destined for big things. She is absolute quality from the tip of her nose to the end of her
tail. Balanced, racy, elegant, classy, sound, pretty – all superlatives I use with ease when I think of her.
She has the cleanest of heads and a kind eye with raised brow. Skull shape is super and matches beautifully her
correct length of foreface. I loved her finish to muzzle. So well put together in front assembly. Clean neckline
into shoulder through topline and tailset. Deep and strong in body but retaining elegance too. She stands on
the very best of bone and feet and her length to height proportions are excellent. Her hindquarters are deep and strong
with plenty width over first and second thighs. Moderately bent in stifle and with short strong rear pasterns.
She is sound out and back and goes well on the around with an effortless style hard to find. Not busy and
pushing hard but just there – soft, easy and without any hardship, such is her ease of gait on the around.
Of course, she is not perfect and for absolute perfection I’d like a little shade more definition in stop and just a
tiny bit more chiselling but that’s nothing in comparison to her abundance of virtues elsewhere. She’s another
from this kennel of top quality bitches. This breeder knows what she is about. To then award
another of her girls the RCC was a delight for me. My admiration for this prominent breeder is unquestionable.
2ND ANLORY CARIGNAN JW (MR N & MISS J NAYLOR & MORRISON) I loved her naughty attitude. It
made me smile although I’m sure her owner didn’t! Very well conditioned, moderate young lady. She stands on good
bone and neat feet, is well put down but just needs a little more finish to compete the overall picture.
Pleasant in head with enough brow and good eye shape and colour. Pleasing angulations fore and aft and has a very
nice topline and tailset. She has a nice style to her, especially on the around. Liked her carriage and footfalls.

1ST COVARNEY LIL’MINX (MR G T & MRS K E B CONDRON) The body properties on this girl are really good.
Superb forehand, prosternum and shoulder angulation. She is deep and strong, completed with a raciness about her.
She has big ribs, so well sprung and of good length. Correct in loin and deep wide quarters with enough bend of
stifle. Short and strong in rear pasterns. Her topline and tailset are correct, as is her length and set of croup.
She moves with great reach and propulsion from the rear. Her head is pleasant, with dark eye, super pigment and
some chiselling. I’d like a little less lip and more squareness to the finish of foreface to give a more classic look
but she is smart in body and puts it all in. She moves well and still has more to come. Rich dark coat and has enough
finish.
2ND FERNSTART BIRDSONG (MISS R BOX) It is plain for all to see that this girls colour is from the lighter side.
I was very aware of this when making my choices. I could not deny her beautifully sculpted head with her dark eyes,
dark pigment and of the correct unshelled almond shape. She has so much to commend in her make and shape.
Great bone and the best of feet, plus she is nicely balanced all through. She is really lovely to go over with each
part fitting smoothly into the next. Good angulations fore and aft, deep and well sprung ribbing. Correct strong loin.
Strong wide quarters and moderate in bend of stifle. She moves well and has so many nice breed points I did
not feel I should overlook her just because she’s a shade lighter. Coat can be improved upon, breed attributes
can take longer to reclaim.

This was a class of many quality girls, whom I enjoyed assessing. I liked my winners very much and can say they all have quite a
number of redeeming qualities to pass on to their offspring. This was heartening and today whilst I may have found X over Y, decisions
were firmly on the moment.
1ST SANGARAH SKYLINE OVER LYNWOOD (IMP HUN) JW (MR R C & MRS J P MUGFORD) This bitch has been
overlooked by me so many times from the ringside – here today she was awarded the RCC with some real
quality bitches either side of her. When I approached her for the first time for assessment I was so taken with her head.
My notes say, ‘Never expected that – so very, very pretty!’ In fact, she must be one of the prettiest girls on
the circuit at the moment. She is certainly on the smaller side, but the one thing about her that always tips it for
me is her absolute balance. She hasn’t got shorter or deeper or longer ratios than the accompanying part, she is
balanced in leg length to body depth and in overall length of body to height at the withers. She is good in bone and
feet and has a flowing topline all the way through. She has very good angulation in front with accompanying rear.
Good ribbing all through to a strong loin area. She’s got plenty going on in the rear with moderate amount of
sweep of stifle. Short and strong pasterns, which I particularly like. She is sound out and back and goes well on
the around. Yes, she is a bit smaller than I normally go for but she is a smaller package of real quality and I found
myself really taken in by her in spite of her not being my ideal size. With my breeders hat on, I can clearly see why
this clever breeder would want this lovely girl to compliment what she already has established. Balanced, racy and
pretty as they come – so deserving of the RCC. Thank you for bringing her for my opinion.
2ND LOCHLORIEN TRUE DETECTIVE IS ANDLEY (MR G & MRS C STEVENSON) Very different in make and shape
to 1. This girl is taller but equally has good overall balance. She moves so well in all areas and really excels in rear. She
has a well developed front, good topline and tailset. She is deep and has great ribs. Strong in loin and has enough
bend of stifle. I liked the deepness she has through her quarters, coupled with her short strong rear pasterns she moves
with great propulsion. She shows her character well as she moves with her ever lashing tail. In head I will say that I
would like her a shade prettier, with more refinement and some further chiselling. Her soundness out, back and around
is what clinched her this higher award in this hotly contested bitch class. She is in good coat and is really well
presented.

Two Show Champion girls chosen to head this class and both quite different. 2 is a girl I have admired before when competing with her
and 1 is a girl I have also been close to competitively. Condition and presentation really do play a huge part in these senior classes.
1ST SH CH RIVERBRUE GLORIANA (MR B A CROCKER) This girl has a pretty head with dark eye of the correct shape,
coupled with good pigmentation. She is clean in skull and has a good finish to her foreface. She has enough stop
and such pleasing raised brows which she used nicely as she was being gone over. I could see her confident
happy personality. Her rich coat was blooming and the lustre on it was one of the best of the whole entry.
Her musculature is without question. She stands on good legs and feet. In profile she has a good topline and tailset.
She is clean in neck and has a great return of upper arm and prosternum. I would prefer a longer shoulder blade for ideal
balance. She has good ribs and strength in loin. Wide and powerful in quarter with moderate angulation in rear.
She has good width across her pelvis, but I would like a shade more length in this area. She has plenty to commend
and moved today with positivity out and back and with a reachy open gait on the around. Just not the balance
I prefer to take the top spots today.
2ND SH CH THENDARA CHASING BOYS TO SUMARIC (MRS S, MRS D & MR J BEGG, MILLIGAN-BOTT & BOTT)
A quality bitch whom I have admired many times before. She is pretty enough too with kind expressive eye
of good shape, colour and pigment. Good head proportions, balanced and parallel. Good ear set and length.
Reachy neck into ample layback of shoulder. I’d like a bit more length in upper arm and a shade more in prosternum.
She stands on quality bone and neat feet. She has good ribbing and correct length of loin. She has good
hindquarters and complimentary bend of stifle. Pleasing in topline and tailset. To be honest I would loved
to have seen her here today in more solid musculature and coat condition. At this level, you have to raise your game.
These little things make it easy for the competition to beat you if they have given better preparation. You have a
quality girl here, but I judge on the day. Today she had to take second spot behind a girl in the peak of condition and form.

1ST KERRYFAIR SPECIAL DIAMOND (MR D & MRS J FOX) Pretty bitch who moved well to win this class.
She has a very good front assembly but still needs to drop into her rear. She is still young and has time on her side.
A shade lighter in colour and was out of coat today but she came together well on the around to head the class.
2ND TREMONISHA FUCHSIA (MR M J WIGGINS) A bitch I have seen before and still like. She was good
in coat and coat colour. She has a good front and is well off for width over her rear. She has good bone
and decent feet. Moves ok but could do with some further guidance as she goes.

1ST LOCHLORIEN SCULLY FOXES ANDLEY SHCM (MR G & MRS C STEVENSON) BVIB & Vet Group 4.
Another from this exhibitor who has a very good body shape. Her angles are good fore and aft and she has a very good
topline. She has a pleasant head with dark eye and some chiselling. Good ear set and length. Reachy neck into good
lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Well sprung ribs that go back nicely to her strong loin. Well
developed quarters with sound musculature all through. She has good bone and the best of feet.
She moved very nicely today to gain BVIB, going on to represent the breed to a credible Veteran Group 4.
